There was a post just like this a few months back and all the hospital handled it differently (like everything else)

Some got a mesh disposable pad, some just had a pad put under them . This is very normal & common, don't fret over it!

If I miss you before Friday, thought& prayers for a speedy recovery!

Bless your heart. This happened to me too. I was sort of mortified but they were so non-chalant about it. Apparently happens all of the time. No big deal. Just let them know and they will take care of you. God bless your journey!

I too had my cycle when I was scheduled for my surgery. I brought my own pads and word the lovely hospital undies. No big deal at all! Just let your nurse know and it shouldn't be a big deal! Best of luck to ya!

I had surgery yesterday & I started the day before! I think Mother Nature is screwing with us.. Lol

Just tell them & they will give you the netted underwear and pads..

Good Luck!

It's actually not that bad.. It's more uncomfortable due to the gas and bloating. Make sure you take a pillow to hold over your stomach. For getting up and down.. It helps a lot

I've just been relaxing in my recliner and sipping on peppermint tea. I will keep you in my thoughts! Good luck :) .

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
