Tomorrow I am 3 weeks post op, and getting to move onto mushie foods... Does anyone have any suggestions on different ideas?

I know applesauce is okay... What about tuna? Mashed black Beans? Trying to think of some wood Protein ideas!

If you can put it in the blender and mush it you can have it. tuna salad, chicken salad. My instructions said Wendy's chilli in a blender. It was great to eat something else, not drink it, but it is a bit of a boring stage. enjoy.

I bought a rotissaire chicken, it is pretty moist, used a little fat free gravy in the bullet, even some laughing cow low fat cheese.............go for the real chicken :) (it does have the consistancy of thick Peanut Butter, but really yummy)

I am on mushies too. Cottage cheese and sauce. Refried Beans and salsa. Mushy Cheerios, cream of wheat, oatmeal.

I have also been using rotisserie chicken and blending it with a liquid. I found sugar free buffalo sauce that isn't bad. Avocado is also good.

Boca burgers are also very mushy if you make them in the microwave.

Any others??

Scrambled eggs are fine. I use 2 eggs but only 1 yoke w skim milk... I usually cannot eat it all.

My nutritionist mentioned doing a rotissery chicken in the blender, but I just thought that sounded so weird... Was it really good?

I love avocado! I can eat them just plain, might be a good snack, to eat 1/2 of one?

Cottage cheese is hard for me, but I might just have to push through it and swallow it. I bought some so ill have to try it again, I'm not wasting money on it! Lol

How do you make your oatmeal? Do you put anything in it? I like the little packets that are different flavors, but she said I can't have those because of the sugar.

Wow I'm getting hungry, just got out a salmon fillet to cook for lunch tomorrow. Yum! food again!

After a month on liquids, I remember my first blenderized chicken meal. I sat at the table with a goofy smile on my face. It was really good. A little cheese and liquid - yummo.

Cottage cheese.........I put it in my Soup and blenderized it.......just added Protein to the cream Soups.

I couldn't do oatmeal at that stage, just cream of wheat.

I had rotisserie chicken in the blender tonight and it was delicious! I added a little cheese to it and ate it with my puréed carrots. It's the best meal I've had since before my pre-op diet.

The chicken tasted good. Just make sure that you have enough liquid in the processor. I have added broth, salsa, FF gravy, really anything.

For oatmeal, I make mine plain with Water and add just a splash of almond milk. I also add a scoop of unflavored Protein to beef up my Protein for the day.

I also can't stand the texture of cottage cheese but I can eat it if I put it in the blender for a little bit. Try to add unsweetened applesauce to it as well.

Sounds good! I'll try it.

I had scrambled eggs this morning with one whole egg and one with no yolk and it was great! My nutritionist said eggs would come at the next stage, but I don't know why I can't go ahead and have it now... So I did.

Thanks for all the help!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
