Well Ive been on the liquid part of my diet for 3 weeks with a peice of chese here and there. Ive been on musshies for a few days, and well last night I lost my mind.

I went to a great reataurant, ( to have hummus) and ended up having, two glasses of wine, :) hummus w pita, 1/2 a samosa , and about :omg: 10 or twelve bites of chicken and rice w curry sause. I knew when I was full and well I said one more, and the one more,

lond story short, I screwed up, and after I got to thinking, What have I done!!:faint: and all the problems I might have caused, this was followed by a pain in my left side and a verp ( vommit berp) ..

any suggestions?

I was banded 3/18/06 and I am a very bad girl. :think

Aaah this sounds so familiar. I hit my six week mark and was allowed to have normal food (actually I started normal food four days early). I went to a rib joint, of all places, and ordered a combo rib/chicken platter intending to eat just a little bit of it. It tasted soooo good that I ended up eating four ribs, a corn muffin, some green Beans, a couple bites of hubby's chili, and a few bites of chicken (I didn't have a fill at this time). Well, I was soooo stuffed I thought my stomach would burst open. I became nauseated and had to take anti-nausea medicine. I got a horrible pain on my right side where my band is, and I basically had to lay down and not move the rest of the night. Lesson learned! I've now had my fill and from now on, it's slooooow eating and listening to my body! I don't want to go through that pain again...

Do not beat yourself up. What has helped me lose my weight was to get the diet mentality out of my mind. My doctor told me before I had the surgery that I would never have to diet again, so I ate what I could when I wanted, I just ate much less. I see you have lost 21lbs in about 3 weeks which is excellent. So don't stressssss over it, your doing very good.

:) Gees woman give youself a break... How long have you had your band????? How long have you been eating? It does take a little getting use to. You have to learn to really listen to your body. And do not take one more bite. Plus it does seem that every Dr. has a different post surgery diet. Some have you on clear stuff for two weeks some for three.

listen to the body, it will tell you. I had to go to Vagas about two weeks after and I just ate what is in Vagas only slower and smaller amounts.

And everything was good.

be real be good.

Amy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
