LizzyWildflower 7 Posted November 27, 2012 Any former or current CPAP users here? I have pretty severe sleep apnea so I absolutely have to use it every night. I got a cute pink one but in all honesty, I'll be way happier to just throw the thing out! lol Also - any of you that have lost weight and noticed that your apnea went away or at least improved? Good news, I no longer use the CPAP, AT ALL!!!! I don't miss it...and mine wasn't even cute or pink! 1 LizzyWildflower reacted to this
Jim1967 3,569 Posted November 27, 2012 I still use mine nightly but I still have a long way to go in my journey. Maybe when the next 100lbs are gone I will get retested. I have gotten so used it now that it is not a priority to be rid of it. I sleep so much better with it on.
patyann 14 Posted November 27, 2012 Yes I too was a CPAP user - severe sleep apnea. Finally after 10 years of use - no more. I lost 60 lbs at the time and the doctor ran another test and said I did not need the CPAP as my apnea was gone. I have lost 30 lbs more since and feel great. hely88 883 Posted November 27, 2012 I could never keep the machine on but after about 50lbs I didnt need it anyway. Best of Luck
colleenjoy 104 Posted November 27, 2012 I've used my cpap for a couple of years now, didn't know they came in pink. I've lost 70+ pounds and am going to see my respiratory therapist to see if I should get another study done. Not sure when/if my insurance will cover it and don't want to have one now and not be able to get rid of it. I will be soooo happy when the machine is gone for good. 1 hely88 reacted to this
4sweeties 63 Posted December 5, 2012 I have a pink mask too, becuase I've been through so many masks trying to find one that works. I don't keep it on all night I just rip it off by accident int he middle of the night. I hope when I lose weight I won't need it. But I might. My father is very healthy, has never been over weight and has sleep apena and uses machine. So for some people, heavy weight makes sleep apena more severe, but they will still have apenea at any weight.
