Mayasgram 351 Posted November 27, 2012 I had not been to the Dr. for a band adjustment since FEb so thought I needed a little pop. When I called the office they said the Dr had in my records that it was time for a fluroscophy . It has been four years since he put my band in and he wanted to look around check things out. So naturally being me I thought OMG what if somethings wrong I feel great, , I am maintaining, hmmmm why does he need to do this. Well it was great I got to watch the whole feel process check out my little band friend watch it work with and without fill help decide how much fill I wanted . It was terriffic . Had a nice chat with the Dr, no PA just me and him .asked some questions and get new input from him on carbination. I said I would like to get a Diet coke and Rum every now and then AND HIS EXCELLENT ADVICE WAS HEAVY ON THE RUM AND EASY ON THE DIET COKE..... I CAN DO THAT. Usually when I have a fill it is done in the office with a probe for the port and a stick this was the best way to do it ever. How many other folks get fills this way ?? How do you like it? CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted November 27, 2012 My first fill was with Fluoro... it was neat to see the process, but I don't need it everytime. I think it is good to check once in a while though. Glad you had a good visit with the doctor.
NoMoBand 278 Posted November 27, 2012 My doc does all fills under fluoroscopy and I had one unfuill done blindly by another bariatric doctor. It took a little bit longer, but, no big deal. If they are trained, finding the port should be no big deal. Fluoroscopy can also show if your band has moved or slipped and can will also show how much your pouch has stretched. Mayasgram 351 Posted November 27, 2012 I guess I was pleased to see that my pouch was as big as a thumb and where it was suppoose to be and my port had no leaks and the fact that I had a visual on just how big/small the restriction was . I loved the whole process after 4 years of not knowing why it was working even though I knew it was , guess I am just a visual learner.
