2Nd Fill And Concerned

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for my 2nd fill on Thursday. I was banded 8/8/12 and am down 30 lbs. I have plateaued over this last month and have not lost a thing. Part of this is poor habits and another part is I have been crazy busy (just got married 11/16).

I am trying to get back in the swing of things and start following all of my rules again but I am nervous about this fill. My last one made me feel nauseous for about 2 days and I have had multiple "stuck" episodes since then. I have to constantly remind myself to eat slow and chew more but it seems like by the time I remember its too late and I am in pain.

Will getting a fill help me or just make these things harder to control? How do I correct my rule breaking? Any suggestions are welcome please!

Congratulations on your recent wedding. No...you aren't at all crazy. I didn't start feeling the "full" feeling until my 3rd fill--that's also when I had my first "stuck" feeling as well. Even though you may not have that "full" feeling this is the time to start working on those behaviors such as not drinking during meals, eating slower, chewing lots, and being mindful of good habits such as eating Protein first. Don't worry...you'll "feel" the fill soon...don't stress out....you have so much going on.

To correct the rule breaking is easy. Get committed and put your head back in the game. Go back to basics... start tracking your food and measuring your portions. Decide on a calorie count which works for you and dont go over it. Its really that simple.

For me to lose and average 2 lbs per week I did 1000 calories a day and limited myself to 3 oz of Protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 startch at every meal. Discuss what works for you with your Dr or NUT and start with the next meal... Then do it for the next one and you will be on your way.

Congratulations on your wedding! I do agree with this! I still use salad forks and dessert plates for all my meals, it has been 3 years from my surgery. Stay on liquids for a few days, my own surgeon says 2 days clear, 2 days full. It is a little extreme, but, you could try that. Make a new committment to yourself to do what is takes to lose the weight! Goodluck, adn keep us informed of your status! Aslo, talk with the office personell, they are, usually, very knowlegaeable, and in my surgeon's office most have had the surgery, including the surgeon. Karen
