Numbness After Thigh Lift?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious... I have lost 170 lbs and have had the Tummy Tuck, breast lift, and neck lift. I'm having my arms done in 6 weeks. I have some numbness at the top of my thigh from the tummy tuck and numbness on the lower parts of my breasts from the breast lift. I have numbness near my ears from neck lift. I love all of the work I've had done and can live with the numbness if its there forever (which I understand is a possibility). What I'm worried about is with the thigh lift its possible to have nerves cut and numbness in my vagina, right? Or maybe those are separate nerves from the thigh. Does anyone know anything about this?

Numbness after any surgery is normal. They cut nerves and they will regenerate. I wouldnt worry unless it never goes away.

The majority of the cutting in an inner thigh lift is a vertical cut, this does not actually sever many nerves. Horizontal cuts like our Tummy Tuck etc, cut across the nerves and therefore damage them more extensively.

I would certainly ask your surgeon about it, but i have never heard of anyone having that problem involving those nerves u mention.

Thanks y'all! Danielle how are you doing? I'm having my arms done in 5 weeks and I'm so excited! I talked to my PS and she said with the thighs that she now does just a vertical cut and that the nerves in that area won't be affected. That will be many more months before I have that done as I have to save up for it. I work and pay cash for all that I've had done. It's taken moving to a cheaper apartment and cutting back on other things, but its really changing the quality of my life and its priceless!

Danielle I'd love to see your pictures. My email is keelinehoppes@yahoo.com.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
