Have Thrown Up Twice Today After Eating

Recommended Posts

Sorry to hear you're having such problems :( I know how you feel. Are you able to keep liquids down at least? Hope things get better. :)

Donna, this is absolutely NOT judgmental but meant to be encouraging. :-) I don't have an answer about your food issue but I want to encourage you to do a TINY bit of walking every single day. Walk to your mailbox or the end of your driveway and back. Or walk on your treadmill super slow for 3 or 4 minutes. I understand lethargy and I know you can't keep food down right now, but just walk a few minutes every day. It will get you going in the right direction and hopefully become easier within one week. I enjoy reading your posts and I think you're a beautiful lady.

aw, thank you so much. I will try to walk as much as I can. Yes I am able to keep soft mushy foods down and liquids. I did call my surgeon and he called back and said it sounded like I was tad bit too tight and for me to come in Monday to get some relief. In the meantime enjoy mushies and soft foods again.

Too tight. Keeping it that way leads to eating sliders. These tend to be higher in cals leading to weight gain.

I know, right! I've only lost a half lb in two weeks and ever since I got my last fill I keep getting stuck, I throw up and then bam yesterday and today I can't eat solids. I'm so hungry right now!

Donna dont feel bad for not exercising. I have arthritis everywhere and if I exercise even walk I pay for it. I have lost well with no exercise. I may have lost faster but I do not in one bit feel bad about not exercising. Some people just have issues and can't. Yes we abused our bodies with the weight. I pay for even at my weight now but it happens. Hang in there, go get some unfill and see but chicken doesnt work for me in any way shape or form and I have way less in my band then you do.

Just hope you feel better. The will to exercise is hard to gather. I struggle with it all the time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
