RichGirl 15 Posted November 23, 2012 I have surgery scheduled for Wednesday and I'm getting cold feet. I've lost 11 pounds on the pre-op diet so far and am feeling like maybe if I can continue this I won't need to go thru it. I'm sure others have felt this way but wanted to post to get a reality check. I know the band is a tool to help lose and maintain, but I guess I'm just getting scared. honk 780 Posted November 23, 2012 Once you go back to eating solids you'll gain it all back.
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted November 23, 2012 I think all of us go through that. But remember how other diets have failed because you got bored, it was too exspensive, it was tedious, you got tired of it or pick another reason. Or if you were successfull... It stopped dieting per se and gained it all back. That's the beauty of the band when Used properly. It makes our natural urge to eat without consideration obsolete. **IP~LB** 279 Posted November 23, 2012 I have surgery on December 4. I have been "watching" what I eat since I saw doctor for first consult on Nov 6. I feel the same way you do now, BUT I have done this 36 plus times in the past and every time I would gain all the weight back plus more. So frustrating!! I hope after surgery the "need" to eat is diminished ALOT. It seems like all I do is think about food, while I am eating my lunch I am thinking what I am going to have for dinner. 1 taylor5015 reacted to this

That is the way I feel. I have lost and regained too many times. I hate always thinking of what my next meal will be. I want to just NOT think of food constantly! Part of me is afraid of failure but, I really feel like this is going to be it for me! This is my last chance. My surgery is Nov. 26th and I am ready. dreamers 27 Posted November 24, 2012 What does a pre op liquid diet look like? I am seeing my doc on the 29th and will get all this info, but am trying to prepare by having the right stuff in the house. Protein shakes? Water? anything else? Can you have coffee? Thanks all
RichGirl 15 Posted November 24, 2012 The pre-op diet varies by doctor. Some require all liquids (protein shakes, clear broths, sugar free Jello and Popsicles) and some require a combo of that and straight Protein (meaning chicken/turkey/fish/egg whites and veggies). Most of the diets are very caloric restrictive. 500-1000 calories per day. 1 dreamers reacted to this

Then Hurricane Sandy hit hit and the stress of worrying about everyone made me eat uncontrollably for over a week. I realized that I most definitely need some help. I am scheduled the day after you. I can't wait!!! 1 RichGirl reacted to this
