hely88 883 Posted November 23, 2012 Did really well and I am very proud of myself however I let my moms chocolate pie run me out of the house. It took seems like forever for my head to catch up to my stomach. Does anyone have any suggestion for next time other then diverting and doing something else? I didn't know head hunger could be so bad
kll724 3,055 Posted November 23, 2012 No hints, other than the ones used for years by WW. Eat something before you go, so that you won't be tempted. But, I eat one bite and then am happy. I stayed away from much of the meal I prepared, tho'. I am 3 years out, and pretty used to the big meals. Head hunger can be your biggest problem, because you think you need something or you will "just die". You will survive! Good luck, and best wishes to survive another day! line-dancer 810 Posted November 23, 2012 Well this is my first big meal but I prepared. I only bought a turkey breast and made 1/2 the dressing, since I have an autisc daughter I made a good portion of potatoes but still less then usually and we had yams cause I knew the kids would not leave anything left.little did I know the first bit of turkey would get suck and it didn't move for about 10 mintued. fianally I had a bit or two of the yam and pots and then it as time to clean up. I pack up whatever was left and sent it home with my guest and froze the other half of the turkey till Christmas. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat some but by the end of the day thanked my band for doing its job so well.

I didn't know head hunger could be so bad My motto is to do whatever it takes. If that means to leave the house while others are eating then so be it. I was just talking to a friend last night about her upcoming holiday party. She was saying... Remember 2 years ago how you stayed in the living room during the party and never ventured in the kitchen and family room because you were on post op liquids. I laughed and yes I did remember that. She said... I really admired you that night because you still got out and had fun.. You just stayed away from the food. Now it doesn't even bother me... And it won't you either because you will be too busy fending off the compliments on how great you look!! 2 hely88 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
hopetolose 192 Posted November 24, 2012 I sat next to my 15 year old football player nephew and watched him polish off two over flowing plates, which included 4 rolls and two pieces of pie. I could not even finish my salad plate of one forkful of everything. Watching people eat like that now gives me the willies.. Its amazing that I ate like that three Thanksgiving's ago. Blast 12 Posted November 25, 2012 It still amazes me to see how much i used to eat..kinda disgusts me now..but my head stilll has me fixing me plate knowing full well i cant eat it..ugh..such a mind trick This was my first Thanksgiving with the band. I also was amazed at what people were eating. Then I thought, I used to eat that much on a regular basis. It was nice to not feel full after eating. I'm happy I'm not the only person who puts more on the plate than I can eat. I did learn not to try new foods in public. I had to keep throwing up during the meal.
