I'm in the same boat and just started getting myself motivated to lose again. I lost an initial 62 lbs since my surgery (73 since pre-op) in the four years since I was banded. I have recently gained 17 lbs back and that is where I put my foot down. I had my band unfilled for a month and have an appointment for next week to start over. I am going to pretend like my band was just put on and start the same diet I did four years ago. I am exercising regularly, which is something I had let go. It's really about being in the mind set to do it. You have to find your motivation. Mine was that my clothes were all getting too tight and I didn't like how my skin looked. And it helped that one of my best friends just lost 123 lbs. I look at her every day and she motivates me. Good luck and don't give up. Most of all - if you fail it is ok as long as you try again. Don't beat yourself up over it and give up, just keep trying.

I'd first go to my surgeon and have him check my band. Once everything checks out fine, I'd ask for a fill.

I'd go back to basics, may use the 5 day pouch test and keeping coming to this site...there's tons of motivational people here.

I agree with her about getting your band checked asap! and also, no stuffing your face! :) you are defeating the purpose of the awesome tool you have been given. So start at the basics... do a liquid diet for a week with Protein shakes .. stick to a cup of food, Protein first, veggies, etc. See how long it takes for you to feel hungry and note it.. that way when you go to your surgeons office you can give them your info and they will know what to do for you. EXERCISE! that is such a HUGE thing... start off slowly, walking.. whatever you feel you can do and build it up ever couple/few days.. excercising really does make you feel so much better about yourself.. sure it's the "getting up and doing it part that sucks" Oh hun I do know that well... lol.. but be strong.. say.. I HAVE to do this.. I will not fail and I will give it my all.. say that to yourself every day in the mirror... everyone slips.. don't beat yourself up for it, and get RIGHT back on it..

Wish you great success on a new beginning of your journey... by your 2nd anniversary.. you will look back and think wow.. look what I have accomplished!! if you need someone to talk to.. send me a message anytime! Good Luck!! :) **HUGS*!

First, go back and check in with your surgeon. Next, go see your nutritionist. Get on an eating plan to get you back on track. Both of these steps are crucial.

I would strongly suggest tracking your daily calorie intake and sticking to a cup or less of food per meal. Tracking calories will not only show you where you need to make changes but also helps keep you accountable. Having bandster sized meals, a cup or less, will help you not only lessen your calorie intake but assure you don't overeat anymore.

Best wishes. You did this once before, you can do it again.

Do what worked for you before. Take advantage of the services you surgeon offers and talk to a nutritionist for reminder course. You know what works you did it before, so do it again!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
