Mimi1980 27 Posted November 21, 2012 I posted here back in May when I made the decision to get banded. My insurance, Oxford, required 6 appointments with a nutritionist (not 6 months), but I only just got around to completing my appointments today. I would have been done and approved sooner, but I had got assigned to 2 trials, the latter of which is ending next month. My surgery date is now set for January 23rd! I'm both excited and terrified. I've wanted to stop this process so many times, but I know that I owe it to myself to be the best me I can be, inside and out...so onwards I go. Stats - May 2012 5' 11" - 341 lbs November 2012 5' 11" - 328.8 lbs I've made some good progress considering the fact that I've been eating nothing but takeout and room service since August, but I know I need to do much better after I get banded. Any advice from banded business travelers will be appreciated. Thanks in advance! 1 2muchfun reacted to this

Maddysgram 6,159 Posted November 21, 2012 Congratulations having a date! The "excited, terrified" feelings are quite normal. Just focus on the prize. You are doing great losing weight before your surgery and it will help in the long run.Just try picking your healthiest options, eat slow, begin drinking a lot of Water and you might want to try some Protein Shakes and see what ones you like . I got a mixer bottle from Walmart and used EAS whey Protein chocolate flavor and it mixes really well with water. Pure Protein has ready to drink containers. Just a thought. Best wishes on your journey! 1 Mimi1980 reacted to this

Best wishes on your journey![/quote'] Thank you for the tips. I've been collecting mixer bottles. I found some cool ones at Marshall's. I've also been trying different protein mixes. I'm really picky so I've been sticking to vanilla (I even stick to vanilla or plain yogurt). My surgeon is strict so for the pre-op diet I have to stick to Bariatric Advantage, but I've been trying to figure out more cost effective post-op options. I'll definitely check out the EAS whey protein vanilla! Thanks again!
