Wgbem 138 Posted November 22, 2012 I was a none insulin dependent diabetic but well controlled on Metformin. I left the hospital off of that med and one of my BP meds. I am very stable but am very careful about sugar intake. Read your labels, especially with the Protein Shakes and bars. I exercise 3-4 times daily. My last A1c was 5.6. I am feeling great. This is only with 27lbs off. Hang in there. You will get it under control. 1 lovely29 reacted to this

Tiffany3280 45 Posted November 22, 2012 I am a type II diabetic also, I started on metformin then I was told too start insulin. This plus high blood pressure and cholesterol too. Since my surgery ( 10/18) my blood sugars have been stable, I still have to watch what I eat. My cholesterol has improved. Make sure you monitor your blood sugar, take them 4 times a day. Also are you eating anything with sugar or a lot of carbs? If its still an issue there are other options than metformin. Good luck to you!!!!
