Have been feeling really good. Had my 1st DRs visit her removed my dressing and my staples all looks good. Today was the 1st day I was allowed to drink my Protein Shakes. It's 7:30 now and I have only drunk one whole EAS and half was all I have been able to put down along with my tea and Water. 1 hour after leaving my DRs office I developed this killing sharp pain in my upper left rib cage. Like what in the world is all this pain about. I have to hold my arms above my head so I can take deep breaths. Warm tea has been makin it feel better but I'm just wondering if my 10cc standard size band fill at 6 cc may be a little too much. But on the bright side of things I have loss 10 lbs since last Wednesday. Oh and DR did say I should feel better once I loss another 20-30 lbs. HELP what should I do ....... With this pain

I'm I understanding this correctly, 6days post-op and 6cc in your band already? If so wow!

I'll be 6wks next Monday and that's when I'll get my first fill.

About the pain, Call your Dr please.

I am 2 months out and have had 2 fills.........I am at 3cc. I from surgery and 1 per fill. Are you sure you are really at 6cc, that sounds huge for 1 week out. And, it is about healing for the next 5 weeks not losing. You need to get your nutrition and take care of yourself right now.

Thanks a lot for the advise but I ask the DR today how much did he put it at surgery and he said 6CC yes he did. But what I found out was that I must have been drinking too fast. I SIPPED on some tea laid down passed a lot of gas upper and lower ends and felt a lot better still some slight pain but I'm up and around now and drinking my Protein Shake 1oz in 5 mins. For a total of 11oz in 1 hour. I hope!!!!!

Thanks a lot

But with this learning experience I see although DR says drink faster you still need to take your time with Fluid intake

That was my problem when I was first banded. I sip, sip, sip to fast fast fast. It wasn't until Jean McMillian (Bandwagon) told me an ounce every 15 mins and then I felt better. Glad you're doing better!

This whole experience is a learning process and I think we'll be learning for awhile.lol

Well that is quite agressive for a fill from the beginning. I mean really my doctor put 5 ccs in to make sure the band inflated but then it was removed. I dont like agressive doctors they set you up to fail. Once you are filled you have nothing to work with. I wouldnt let him do that again. Go slow.

I know and I guess he did it because of my diabetes I think and by the way my sugars have been way better plus he also wanted to give me a bypass and I kept refusing. I want baby steps first with the band.

I now know how important it is to sip sip sip 1 oz every 5 mins but sheesh this ribcage pain hurts lol and sneezing with it is NO better
