Exercise Support Wear?

Recommended Posts

So I just got off of the treadmill and I can't stand my flab jumping around when I'm trying to run (doing the C25K program), does anyone have any suggestions on supportive active wear to help with this? Like something really supportive that has wicking capabilities?

Well stay out of NIKIE and champion for now cuz they don't have anything for the plus sized womman.

I get my sweat on in a cotton bra no wires from the cassique collection from laynebryant but I make sure it is well fitted so the chest don't bounce to much when I do jog. I just usually ware an old t shirt and an old pair of cotton bermudas

That's a good question what do the plus sized gals do for workout ware if they want any?

Catherines makes great plus size exercise wear, Liz & Me. Also Glmourise sports bra! I still wear it and have had to by a smaller size every couple months now, but very comfortable and supportive without wire. You can watch their website and get them half off every month or so.

Thanks all! Cheryl, wicking is where the clothes help with "wicking" away sweat I guess it dissipates it faster or keeps it drier somehow, I get heat rashes really easy and this would help with that.

Look for any sort of compression wear from a sporting outlet. Works well for me.

I ahve been buying compression wear for the last couple years and run alot. the best compression wear for running is CWX but it is limited in sizes if the female size doesnt fit try a mans the sports bra's I understand go quite large as my wife uses theres and Underarmour sprots bra's there capris and running leggings aswell as tops keep all my loose skin in tight and dry Also underaromour in the states goes upto 3xl

Wicking is the action of moving the moisture away from your skin so you stay dry when you sweat. Spanx aren't good for that when exercising!

I went to fleet feet to get sized for bra and compression wear. Try a local fitness store. My bra makes me look nothing like a Nike ad but it works great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
