My Crafty Princess 2 Posted November 30, 2012 It seems to me most people who are not doing well know why. It is really a matter of getting up brushing yourself off and getting back on. I also agree that monthly meetings with my doctor are now a priority. The nurse who is amazing told me when I can't afford to come in she wants to at least chat with me on the phone. Please don't wait as long as I did. I could have been at my goal lat least 2 times over by now. I know what you mean. I got banded 4 years ago and lost 100 pounds and am embarresed to say I have gained it all back. I have been struggeling with it for a while now and have lost 16 pounds and am trying to get back on track. I plan to call tomorrow and get an appointment to see my doctor and the nutritionist to get a well need refresher to make sure I know the right things so I am successful. I am going to Disney World for my 18th wedding anniversary (and my son's school marching band is also going to be in a parade while there) and I want to fit on the rides. Last time there I had to get off some of the rides because I didn't fit. that isn't happening this time. I am glad to be back on the site to get some incuregment to get back on the wagon. Good lucki to those also off the wagon and trying to get back on it. 2 Maddysgram and donna12 reacted to this
Tomander 614 Posted November 30, 2012 I'm a big believer in support from others and checking in with my doctor. I host a 2 monthly coffee groups for bandsters or people looking into the procedure. I also still get weighed in every month with my family doctor.... this has kept me on track. I don't keep a food journal anymore but I do still plan my meals for the week. I find that really helps. I'm thankful I've been able to maintain my weight... right now I'm actually below goal because of a medication I'm on. It's never too late to get back on the "band-wagon" If there isn't a support group in your area try and start one. You can place a free ad in your local community newspaper for a lapband coffee group... that's what I did for one of my group and you would not believe the response I got. One of my coffee groups met last night and we had 12 people out... all at various stages. You may have read my previous posts here but I've recommend two books that I found helpful... and I'm not one really who is into "diet" books... also if have a hard time dealing with snacking at night I've also talked about the "Egg Timer Trick"... as of today I've now e-mailed it to 87 people. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me and I'd be happy to forward the information to you. tomander@bell.net Tom, Toronto Banded July 6 06 Wt.
