Hi

I see Dr. Glassgow as well, I have been banded now for not quite a year and I'm doing well.

If you are considering banding relax you have come to the right place.

I'm about 1/2 way to my goal, and I would not change a thing.

Best of luck as you start your jouney!

Hi

I live about 45 min. out from the office in walpole.

I don't go to the office events or anything like that just when my husband brings me in for my fill apt. or if i run into complications.

I usually book on fridays so i can get a ride from my spouse.

you can message me here if you want.

The band really has been a game changer for me. I have hit the point in my weight loss where my closet has become absolutely non exzistant. I'm waring the same stuff all the time cuz that is what fits. Hubby has demanded I return his 1/2 of the closet and get rid of all of my to big clothes. I'm going to do a shop hopefuly my last one ever at the Laynebrant outlet because even though I'm now down seventy two pounds, I'm still a womman's size because i'm tall 5ft 8 in. and I'm literally big boned so those miss clothes just don't fit the bill yet. I know i'm only 1/2 way to goal but going from the largest sizes at Laynebryant down to the smallest they carry is a major acomplishment.

Hope to hear from you either via the office or thru the boards here .

We live about 35 minutes from the office so it's a trek for us too. Congrats on your weight loss! I have found going to thrift stores to buy the in between sizes is much cheaper and I find good deals! I have yoyo'd a lot so I have a range of sizes. I'm hoping this ends the yoyo and I can maintain the loss. I am also a tall woman. I am 5' 11" so I doubt I will ever be "small". My goal is healthy, happy and comfortable in my own skin.

There is a sales girl at the LB outlet her name is Nayomi she is a dressmaker in her spare time. She went to school for fashion design. she has offered to take in my clothes as i go on the way down.

I've started going to savers thrift and it is really hit or miss there, sometimes i find something that works sometimes not. I think I will find a solution that works for me for re doing my wardrobe thru the discount stores, getting some nice things at LB that can be tailored down and the savers thrift.

Before banding I was an avid shopper at LB and built myself a rther nice wardrobe.

Right now I'm kinda in "no man's land" still to big for regular miss and going shopping has been alot of trial and error. After weeding thru my closet today for far to long looking for something that looked good I realized it's time to chuk everything that don't fit right and start over.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
