Is anyone able to eat an occasional fry? I have no intention of any time soon since I'm only 6 days post op, however, I do love fries and would love to one day be able to have 3 or 4 with a burger patty (no bread lol) Maybe not a huge concen, but I can't imagine never having a fry again HA!

You sure can. :) Once in a while for a "treat" I will order a McDonald's hamburger kids meal. It is around 350 calories I believe for the whole meal and now they only have a very small container of fries with it. I eat healthy overall but once in a while I will have this as my meal and it doesn't blow my calories for the day. :)

I have tried to steal fries every so often... Just 2 or 3 but evidentially I am one of the lucky ones the has a finicky band... No sooner then I swallow them... They come right back up. My band is allergic to grease I think because it happens with anything greasy....

My mom and a friend of mine have the mom they both look great and both eat what they want just in moderation. They tell me you can eat what you want just in moderation and just chew chew chew. That's the most important thing.

Depending on what stage you are or how fast you want to lose I would agree with you for the most part. For me I needed to get the weight off before I started enjoying anything in moderation... But now I do to a point and I am maintaining nicely. There are some foods I dont enjoy eating anymore because my band has a mind of its own ...like fried foods and rice. :(

I cant tolerate fries. I would rather have a nice baked potato with real butter, sour cream, green onions and some bakos and fat free cheese. Of course this is my meal.

Oh I love baked potatoes too! I am originally from TX and plan in making a southwest baked potato when I'm on foods again... Small potato, a few grill chicken strips, cheese, sour cream and chives along with some butter sounds soooo good right now!

Yes you can! We buy the frozen bag of Shoprite "homestyle" Potatoe Strips, french fries and put them in the toaster oven till nice and crisp. They have the skin on them too, they are yummmmicious! The back of the bag says that:

16 fries = 110 calories

Fat = 2.5 grams

Saturated fat = 0

Cholesterol = 0

Sodium = 170

Carb = 20

Sugars = 0

Protein = 2

I forgot to mention, I could never get to 16 fries if I tried to. My belly says it can only handle 10 now, LOLOLOL

I love McDonalds fries, however, I'm really wanting Chick-fil-a waffle fries :P lol This will be a splurge day while out with the girls or something (Mother of 5 so I usually only get 2 or 3 of those a year lol)

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
