Is finely ground turkey and mashed bananas considered mushies? I keep seeing people eating these things, but i wasn't sure. I will ask my dr Monday, just curious what the consensus was. :).

My dr didn't have a mushie stage, he called it blenderized and pureed.........if you could whip it up in a blender it was okay. That was after full liquids for 1 week then introduced ground meats and bananas came in then as well.

Good luck.

Thank you! Yes, i can puree anything. I was thinking of doing some ground italian seasoned turkey meatballs and blending them with a Tomato based sauce and maybe a bit of ricotta. I am not sure how that would taste though lol

I puréed a lot of different foods in the blender. I actually puréed cheese ravioli! It looked gross, but it tasted like heaven!

What is after your mushie stage. I think blenderized Wendy's chili was part of my pureed stage, so you might be okay.

My cncern for you would be the enormous amount of fat and calories you plan to blend up. Not judging' date=' just an observation. .Sausage was not, and still is not part of my doctor's approved diet plan[/quote']

She said turkey meatballs not sausage. ... If you used turkey meatballs and low or fat free ricotta, this would not be an enormous amount of fat or calories...just saying,

Oh yes just lean turkey lol no sausage. Lol. Thank you for the suggestions. These are great! I move on to soft foods wednesday. I can have regular meat, crackers, and i don't have to blend or puree my Soups. :).

I put chicken in the blender with a bit of low fat gravy and it was so good at that time. Introduce meats slowely......I am 2 months out and had beef for the first time this week......still nervous about that and have not had pork yet.

Heck, I had surgery over two years ago and in still nervous about beef! Can't do any stewing meat- no matter how long it cooks in the slow cooker, it still gives me trouble. The only pork that I eat is pork tenderloin. It stays very tender and it makes great slow cooker barbecue pork.

I eat beef, I just have to very careful. I use very lean ground beef to make chili and taco meat, I just can't do beef like in a slow cooker. I can do tenderloin, yum! I just can't afford to eat it all the time.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
