Warm Tea With Splenda!

Recommended Posts

This has been a God send for me today... Day 4 post op. Seems to calm my belly from rumbling and is also soothing compared to Water or anything cold. Maybe this will help someone else out in their post op process... Sure would have loved this info on day 2 an 3 ;p

Even better is warm some apple juice and fruit punch then put in a tea bag and let steep. Gets rid of gas well.

Try adding a little sf Creamer to your hot tea! It is awesome. Filling and no calories. I use Decaf Earl Grey.

Careful with tea... caffeine can dehydrate you. Try Decaf ginger tea too!

That was a good thing about tea too, you can get 8oz down pretty easy.

I like Earl Gray, but drink Chai tea most the time. Reminds me of Christmas.lol

Vanessa I'm 2 weeks from surgery and getting antsy about what I'll drink. This is very helpful.

Although tea is a natural diuretic, it was a God send today! I feel like a new person! With 5 kids, I can't be lethargic or "down and out" too long :) I will take my blessings, however small they may be, and count them 1 by 1... And today that blessing was in the form of TEA!! Lol

The Chai tea I drink is decaffeinated .

You do want to watch that right after surgery.

You need to watch the caffeine all the time. It dehydrates you so you have to drink extra Water if you drink any type of caffeine. That is why I stay away from caffeine all together. I only drink Decaf tea.

It is still good if you let it cool off! Sometimes you just need a different flavor!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
