Woke Up Feeling So Fat!!

Recommended Posts

:( I feel sad ... I see my self in the mirror and see a fat person that doesn't look like she's losing any weight! And wondering why did I do this :( ... Need words of encouragement ... One of the ugly days I feel like a loser!

I understand. I have lost 43 lbs since June and I still feel fat. I am hovering at 201 and know i am still obese, but I still feel big. I think it is our mind. Try to finds something postive to concentrate on. Mine is my face, when I look in the mirror I notice my double chin is gone and I can see my cheek bones and my neck. So when I start feeling that way I look at my face in the mirror and smile- and see my dimples that I have never seen before and know I have made progress.

Stay strong.

You just had surgery Oct. 1 ~ you are doing FABULOUS!!! Do you hear me ~ F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!! As women, we are hormonal too and struggle w/ our emotions from time to time. Losing 1-2 lbs per week is good and you are at the high end or exceeding that!!!

Try to look at the positives. For me, I desperately want to find my winter ONE-derland but I find other goals or achievements to get excited about. For example, I started this journey with 150 lbs to lose. I now have 90 lbs to lose. For some reason, it excites me to think I have less than 100 lbs to lose now. So find things to Celebrate about your journey. Also, have you calculated your BMI? 30 lbs can make a big difference at improving that and your health!!!

Go for a walk or get some exercise to get your endorphines and nature's feel good hormones flowing!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
