katbabie34 0 Posted November 16, 2012 February 2010 is when I had my lapband. I have had a few fills but everytime I have to go back and get the fills removed. Evidently I completly shut up and then I am sick non stop. Luckily I have a great surgeon who has came in on the weekends fo me. I have lost 100 pounds so I am very happy. My problem is I still have alot of trouble with food sticking in my band and hurting when I eat. I eat icecream everyday before eating dinner. It seems like the icecream numbs me so it does not hurt to eat. I have not gained weight back but I can not lose any more weight either. I still have 30 pounds to my goal weight. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted November 16, 2012 You may be taking too big of bites. I fell into that after while and was not as good as at the start. Measure, weigh, tiny bites and chew are my mantra. Glad you are not gaining, but the ice cream is giving you extra calories. Try very cold Water before eating. 2 katbabie34 and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

katbabie34 0 Posted November 16, 2012 I was going to ask the same thing. What does very cold Water do? I have tried ice cubes and that does not have the same effect as the ice cream does.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted November 16, 2012 Has your surgeon checked your band placement with a barium swallow? If not, you need to demand it done immediately. Ice cream is a very bad idea. That is nothing but empty calories and will quickly sneak up on your scale if you're not careful. If your band isn't slipped, I'd guess your bites aren't small enough. They should be about the size of your fingernail. You should also be chewing until it's absolute mush and pausing between bites. Best wishes and congratulations on losing so much weight!
