Im down to chat. I am struggling with my band, but I am natural and love hair talk. So let's chat it up :) I've been natural since 2000. I have locks for 7 years, and now I am natural and free. I have had a lot of hair issues since being banded, but now things seem to be much better. My hair is growing and shiny.

I am a natural fury girl as well. I have been perm free for four years. It wasn't til this last year I learned how to grow thicker longer hair. As for my band, I was banded April 3rd, 214. So far everything is great, except this gas pain...

Congrats on both. Be mindful to properly care for your hair now more than ever. I know that I had a lot of issue with dryness and breakage since having my band. I use a lot of moisture/water to maintain and enhance my growth.

I am watching my hair, I take Biotin as apart of my daily regime. As we speak I am deep conditioning my hair, then I am going to do a protective style on it.

That's good. I don't consistently take biotin as I should. I moisturize daily with Water mixed with essential oils. I also mix shea butter with some essential oils as well. Protective styles are wonderful. Sounds like you have a great plan.

I am trying... I just realized my grammar was all messed up, I blame that on the pain medicine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
