Post Banding - What is a normal weight loss rate

Recommended Posts

I was banded in early January (Approximately 10 weeks ago) I lost 15 pounds the first two-three weeks. I have since lost only 5. I've had one fill, going back for a second tomorrow. Is this normal or do I need a major adjustment??

I've now had my second fill. I can feel the difference. I've already lost three more pounds this week.

Jan - 262

Feb - 250

Mar - 240

Apr - 235

At 5 lbs in 6 - 7 weeks you're barely under the statistical 1 - 2 lbs/week average, but you're spot on for an overall average. You're doing great, and just think - those 20 lbs are 20 that you'll never see again. :ban:

This is an aspect that interests me. From looking at various people's stats, the informal average seems to be about 10#/month. Thank goodness for the first 6 months, eh?

I'm averaging a measly 1/2kg a week now (about 1lb), but I guess I dont have more than about 40lb to go to get to a healthy weight range, I've lost quite slowly but fast enough to satisfy me. Its pretty painless. I could probably lose faster if I "dieted" but I dont want to do that.

Jacqui: I've dieted all my life. Like you, it would be nice to lose the weight as a result of the band and not a diet. Thanks:)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
