Seems Like Life Revolves Around Exercising And Food

Recommended Posts

do you like running/jogging? maybe try signing up for a race. it will give you a goal to look forward to and it's more about having fun completeing the race and less about "ugh i need to exercise today" if you know what I mean. that sometimes works for me! (and i dont even really like to run!)

I do like walking and really want to get myself to where I can run. There's actually a 5K in my town next month that I want to do. I walked it last year and would like to run it this year but its a good day if I'm able to run half a mile straight :). He did it to me again a little while ago. I did go out and do an hour in the elliptical and he asked me if I exercised I said yes I did an hour on the elliptical his response was "that's it? Why? Kinda weak wasn't it?" I told him that's all I felt like doing, he seemed like he got mad. Before that I was feeling pretty good with myself that I even went out and did the hour :(

Does your Xbox have the kinect? I use mine to workout and they have several different Zumba games.

It did but the kids sold it to get a game :(. I think I'm gonna move the DVD player to the garage/gym and break out my exercise DVDs :)

I agree!! I am only doing 30 min 4 times a week. You should be proud of that hour.

Finding the time to exercise is the hardest for me. I have an in home gym. I set up a flat screen with DVD and dvr for my fav shows. Sooo I have to watch them on the treadmill. I do this three times a week for an hour. Makes me feel great and I always wonder why I fight it so much. I've come to the conclusion it's my fat cells trying to stop me lol. I get bored too. Now that the weather has been sooo nice I've been walking the neighborhood. shake it up when it gets boring. In Austin we have tons of hike and bike trails I take advantage when I can. Don't give up!! Don't let the fat cells win!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
