LizAndrews 18 Posted November 15, 2012 I'm a week out of surgery, and healing fine. The last couple days I have had really sharp pains under the largest incision (which is that the port?). Has anyone else had pain like this? What can I do? How long does it last?

Iruthie20 24 Posted November 15, 2012 I'm 16 days post off...lots of pain and uncomfortable at port site. Since day one my port has always hurt!! It hurts a lot while I'm walking, especially if I'm walking fast. I take Tylenol.
SueBee01 630 Posted November 15, 2012 Tylenol is good. I had tenderness in my large incision site for about four weeks.
LizAndrews 18 Posted November 15, 2012 Well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I notice it more at night, and when I try to roll on my side when sleeping. I'm starting to feel the actual port though, it's kind of hard... I guess I didn't really know what to expect. I'm getting my first fill on Dec 22st, I'm a little nervous with it being right before Christmas, and I'll be on solid foods by then. I wonder what it feels like after getting a fill, or how much they fill on the first one... I guess we'll see! Anyone have any good recipes for full liquids? With lots of Protein? Hope everyone is doing good with their loss!
♥LovetheNewMe♥ 1,216 Posted November 15, 2012 It is normal to have some discomfort around the port, it took me weeks before I could stand to wear my skirts or pants or ly on my side.
SueBee01 630 Posted November 15, 2012 Liz,you will most likely be on liquids a day or to and mushies a day or two after your fill. You should be able to put any kind of Soup you like in a blender and strain it for your liquids! Mushies you can blend any neat and add a little broth or mayo to moisten is, scrambled eggs, or fish that you can mash with a fork. Plan your meal out if you are eating for the holidays with your family so that you can eat right with them. It won't be the first holiday you will be eating different then everyone else. It will work out. Just remember that it is about being with everyone and not necessarily the food that we eat anymore! You will be fine! 1 Maddysgram reacted to this
