Wgbem 138 Posted November 14, 2012 My daughter is having lapband surgery today. We are in the waiting room as she gets prepped. This has been hard for her as she feels many have judged her because of being 21. We have a significant history of diabetes, HTN, and heart disease. Since my surgery I am off all diabetes medication and one of my BP meds. We have battled weight issues and we have both come to this conclusion. 1 figgy2figgy reacted to this
this sucks 557 Posted November 14, 2012 Prayers sent... I wish that I had been brave enough at 21 to get this done! I wasted another 35 years of damaging my body before I finally had surgery. Good for her!
Wgbem 138 Posted November 14, 2012 I agree. Thank you for your prayers. People don't understand the soul searching you do before coming to this decision.

bonmah77 20 Posted November 14, 2012 wonderful!, I wish I had done it when I was younger instead of always struggling with my weight.
Wgbem 138 Posted November 14, 2012 I wish I had too. I am just so glad we are taking control of our health. It is funny, I did not realize the power I had in my hand regarding our health. As soon as I started to take an active part in my health the rest of my family did too.
