NJMommy2Four 16 Posted November 14, 2012 I just got my band done 6 days ago. It's been quite an adjustment. I hate this liquid diet. I feel like I am starving!!
elcee 3,341 Posted November 14, 2012 We all hated the liquid diet. The good news is it is not forever even if it feels like it is. Just keep the end goal in sight.
NJMommy2Four 16 Posted November 14, 2012 I keep telling myself to be the good patient!! But it is so hard when the rest of the family is eating these yummy meals and my stomache is grumbling in hunger. I gave in last night and made a little bit of soft scrambled eggs and only ate three tiny fork fulls. It helped the stomach settle and i felt soo much better. I'm gonna keep it light real light and real small. But just liquids, only Water and juice just isn't cutting it. They told me no shakes or milk?? I dunno why? I could settle for a carnation shake or two a day.
elcee 3,341 Posted November 14, 2012 There are reasons that your Dr has given you this diet to follow. It is about healing, not punishment. If you feel that you cannot stick to it the CALL YOUR DR and ask what else you can add to your diet to get you through it. Eating things that are not on the list your Dr gave you is setting you up for failure and worse - possible future problems such as a slip. 1 Maddysgram reacted to this
NJMommy2Four 16 Posted November 18, 2012 I had my post-op on Friday and spoke with the nutrionist. Feeling a little better about things and they have advanced my diet. So things are better. 1 destynee1 reacted to this
destynee1 417 Posted November 19, 2012 thats good to hear.. I know most instructions are similar yet every dr is different.. first day was Clear Liquids after the surgery and the next 13 days was full liquids.. i got to mushies.. was on that for about a day, and then went to soft foods.. my dr said that was fine.. tell them how you are feeling and they will let you know what is ok to do.. ie: skip a phase or not.. glad to hear things are better and welcome to the forums! this site is AWESOME!! NJMommy2Four 16 Posted December 11, 2012 So far this has been very slow going. I go December 21st to schedule my first adjustment. I am getting very nervous. Its almost been 5 weeks since surgery and I have been able to eat pretty normal now and I know that is all going to change once I have the adjustment. I haven't lost any more weight, but I haven't gained either.

I haven't lost any more weight, but I haven't gained either. Glad you are doing better. Also, not to bust your bubble but other than the day or two after a fill where you have some swelling you will likely not notice much of a difference. It typically takes a few to start feeling the satiation and more restriction. It will come. The waiting can be tiresome but it's worth it in the end. We didn't gain it overnight. 2 Maddysgram and destynee1 reacted to this
NJMommy2Four 16 Posted December 12, 2012 Thanks!! I knew this wouldn't be instantaneous, but it feels like it is taking forever to get going. Question... when you get the fill, can you feel it? Like does your stomach feel weird or crampy? I am getting so nervous about it!!
