Hi everyone. I was banded 12/30/11. I have lost a total of 62 pounds, which is awsome, but for the past two months I've been struggling, wanting to eat junk and fighting not to drink while I eat, not to mention the games my head is playing with me, taking more food than I could possibly eat because my head tells me I can eat that much and suddenly everything bad seems soooo good to me. My weight has been the same for 2 months, which is great that I haven't gained. I was on this site almost every day and have "slacked off". I need to reconnect and start excercising again. I would appreciate any support to help me start doing what I need to again. This site was wonderful when I first started and want to be connected again like I was in the beginning. Thanks for any support!

62 lbs is awesome. Just get back on track. Maybe set small goals for yourself? Good luck!

I'm doing about the same as you and I've only gained about 4 lbs in the last 2 months. I'm not going to sweat it though. Thanksgiving is 10 days away, Xmas is 7 weeks, no need to torture myself over the holidays. I'll just try to make wise decisions when I can and try to avoid the places where excessive sugar lays waiting for me.

January 2nd is not that far away and if I can keep my weight where it is, I'll consider it a victory. I typically gain 12 lbs or so every holiday season. Keeping it under 5 would be a moral victory. The band will still be there in January and I'll take full advantage. Happy Holidays!

I, too, am struggling the past couple of weeks or so. I have lost 60 lbs since my surgery on Feb 29, 2012. It seems that I've hit a point where I feel stalled. I am hungry, yet when I eat, I often vomit because things get stuck. I have stopped solid food and gone back to mushy food because now I have a very sharp pain in the center of my stomach. I'm hoping the band hasn't slipped, but to be careful, I will be contacting my doctor this after noon. I had one other time that I felt "stalled," and a little adjustment was made. However, that hasn't helped this time.

What are some symptoms of band slippage??

Sounds more like you're either too tight or you're not following the band eating rules. I get stuck several times a week but I can trace it back nearly every time to eating while distracted. In other words, I resort back to my pre-band eating days and take too large of a bite or eat too quickly or don't chew adequately.

If you follow the rules and still get stuck, you probably need a small unfill?

I have been off track since summer. I didnt gain in the summer so that is a victory. But I am up 4 pounds in the last six weeks. I know that I snacked way too much and moved too little. After a while I kind of took the band for granted and stopped measuring and really thinking about my food choices.

When I want to eat junk it goes down very easy and when I eat what I am supposed to then I get full quickly. So for me there is no snack on the junk regardless if I am stressed or a holiday or whatever. I joined MFP to really track what I eat and how much I move.

Today I went to the store and bought myself some supplies (veggie burgers, SF pudding, and other) to motivate me to make the right choices. I also downloaded some new Itunes songs to motivate me to move more.

I feel more incontrol and feel optimitic to each step forward. This is a process and you will stumble and even fall but keep going. Little steps make a big difference.

This weeks goals for me is to stay below 1200 cal eating what I should/Take my vitamins/Exercise in the morning to set the tone for the day.

Oh and Water Water water. Chin up and move on.

If you are on MFP or anyone else my login is adak429 would love more friends.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
