Frustrated, No Weight Loss

Recommended Posts

I had my second fill last week. I'm at 6 cc, total loss 28 pounds, 10 pre-op, 18 post. I'm 2 months post op. my doc says I'm right on track with my weight loss, but I feel hungry a lot and the scale hasn't moved in three weeks:-( he says next months fill number 3 is going to be " the one" that make me realize the band is there. I am exercising, honestly I'm not tracking my food everyday, it gets exhausting!!! Just trying to go with how I feel most of the time. U have yet to feel any difference from this second fill. I know I need to be patient! Just would be nice to see that scale going down. My clothes are a lot looser and have even gone down to a 16 from an 18. Guess I just need some encouragement:-)

Are you using a phone app to track your food? It not hard at all. Every time you put something in your mouth you enter it.

Your dr is right.. You are doing fine and when you reach the green zone life will. Be easier... I promise. But in the mean time you need to track your calories and portion and measure your food of the chance

of loss is very slim.

Congratulations on making this work!!

28 pounds in 3 months. Frustrated that the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. I was looking for encouragement not to be criticized! I don't post often, but why can't people just be nice or don't say anything

It will come. Patience. You can't lose years of weight over night. Your body is getting used to the new everything. In time with the food reduction your body has no choice but to drop the weight.

I'm sorry if that came off mean!!

That wasn't my intent!! Promise!!!

I know all too well about how much plateau's can be discouraging but just try to remember how far you've come. Also there is a great thread about carb cycling on here. People have reported success in breaking out of their plateau by doing this.

Good luck!

Similar situation here:)

Started 224lbs in march. Surg 8/12 200lbs

Today 190 I have 7cc in and don't feel like a even have a Lapband. But went to my 3 month preop class yesterday and was rejuvenated. :)

The weight lose is slow and steady and HEALTHY! WTG on your lose. Look at your loss as a big accomplishment! And keep moving and follow the 'band' rules your doc set. Don't be discouraged were all in the same boat..I'm hoping I get 'green' soon!! Lol good luck!!!!!

I didn't see anything mean or critical in lapbandsters post?

18 lbs post op is super. Wish I could have lost that much. But, many of us don't. You should be doing cartwheels or the Happy Dance?

Floridays, what phone app do you use? I would love to have that instead of writing everything down at the end of the day. Is it for iPhone?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
