Hair Loss :-(

Recommended Posts

Luckily I haven't lost any hair that I've noticed but I go to the salon this Friday and I'm gona ask my stylist if she notices if it seems thinner. I did have a probelm with brittle dry hair and had to order a product for that. I am the world's worst about taking my Vitamins and Biotin which is for hair and nails, take that. Any multi Vitamin will do, mine are Gummy fruit flavor but there are ones out there specifically for bariatric patients, just google them. But biotin is for your hair. I'm down 45 lbs since June. Not quite as good as you! :( but I will get there. Also make sure you are getting your Protein in daily. Good luck.

i had surgery in june and around end of month 2 to about 4... i noticed more and more hair in the tub around the drain..i just passed month 5 and its def let up...i take my Vitamins and i eat alot of Protein. i think that has helped me... (my surgeon doesnt hold alot of credit in the Biotin supplements) but if it works for you, that is what matters.

I'm three years out almost and still lose hair. I take Biotin and it has helped some but not much. I think it all depends and trust me my hair is already thin lol so it makes me sad to see how much I really lose.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
