Many people require several fills. I think you just haven't found your "green zone" yet. Keep following up w/ the surgeon until you get there.

I was banded at the beginning on July and I have the same size band as you and I'm at 7.8. My doctor said on average 9 is when you get to greenzone. I'm there with what I already have in my band.

If you are still hungry it means you need more fill to get you to the greenzone. Some people need more others need much less.

As I loose more weight I slip back out of the greenzone and I go in to get just small top ups, like .3 or .2 and it puts me back where I need to be not feeling hungry for four to six hours between meals.

Thanks for the feed back. I was getting worried because my doctor said he has never filled more then 9cc in a 14cc band because most to all of his patients get to the greenzone before then. I'm at 6.5 so I was getting worried this wasn't working for me.

I have a 14cc band and have 10.7cc in to be in the green zone! It took about a year to find that spot! Slow I know but have still lost 95lbs so don't get discouraged!

Don't obsess about how much or how often you get a fill. You will know what is right for you. You haven't been banded very long. Learn to listen to your ever changing body with the weight loss. My surgeon explained, as noted by another bandster, that as you lose body fat, that includes fat in your abdomen and fat around your organs, including your esophagus. As you lose the fat, your band gets looser because there is less fat for it to fit like it needs to. Listen to your doctor and your own body. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
