Hey so I'm on day 3 doing the liquid diet but I tried some chicken broth n I couldn't stomach it bc it was nasty. Maybe bc I picked up the store brand instead of Swanson. Is it ok if I brought fat free or low sodium chicken noodle Soup n drain everything and drink that instead?

My doctor told me it was ok to do that..so that's what I did. I bought the Soup in a box and just drained the noodles out. It was definitely better than plan broth

I couldn't stomach straight broth either. I found low sodium bouillon cubes were much better!

I had my husband get wonton Soup from the Chinese restaurant and I just had the broth. My dr also said I could have any soup as long as I put it in the blender. I did this to a Progresso soup and also thinned it out with Water.

I also thinned out some cream of wheat and thinned out SF pudding. I have been adding unflavored Protein to everything to make sure I am getting enough to heal.

Good luck!

Yes, just make the Soup like you normally would, but drain the noodles out. I used Campbells cup of soup chicken noodle

You dont have to just eat chicken broth. Do you like Tomato? V8 juice is good warm and all the other choices you have. jello' date=' Protein drinks etc...[/quote']

I been eating Jello and drinking the Protein Drinks but the doctor gave me a schedule on what I should drink every hour so I want to follow it to the best I can but the broth is making it hard.

How did you thin out the pudding?

I used unsweetened almond milk but you could use Water or skim milk. I did add some unflavored Protein as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
