Thank you. It is exciting. I'm going to be so overjoyed once I hit the 100 pound mark. This is so worth the hard work we go through as bandsters. I repeat. SO WORTH IT!!!

Thank you all for your likes and comments. I am so emotional about this. I'm sitting here reading all the replies and taking peaks of my profile pictures and in honestly teary eyed. Yes we are new people and yes we can do it.

We will make it even through those tough times when we doubt ourselves or we go in a food binge or we feel like we have already messed things up so we beat ourselves up for it. Don't let that interfere with your journey. There is such a great sense of victory when u find that person inside yourself that is the real you. The lean you.

Thank you. And yes, the best advice I have is to change your food choices. You will have to do this with each adjustment. So start now. Take small bites and chew each small bite of food until its mush. This is still the hardest part for me. But this is where my band starts to do Its work by reminding me only small amounts at a time. My dr says 20 small bites of food. Throw the rest of your food away. Don't wait for the full feeling. U will be left with more of a satisfied feeling. Remember satisfied not full.

Good luck on your journey. We're all here for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
