yaya77nc 20 Posted November 10, 2012 Well I had the Barium Swallow done on Thurs & results came back as Dysmotility of the Esophagus(which means my esophagus has gotten lazy and is not pushing my food down fast enough so therefore it feels like something is stuck and I have really bad heartburn/indigestion), I have been referred to a GI doctor to see what needs to be done, good news is that the band is fine (no slippage), I was just curious if anybody else has experienced this before, thanks for reading. Scorpio Girl 88 Posted November 10, 2012 Yes, many of us have experienced this as a result of being banded. You don't have to bee too tight to cause this. It seems to be a common occurrence after a couple of years. Go to the complication forum and post there, you'll find many that are experiencing this sort of issue. Jean McMillan 2,973 Posted November 10, 2012 It's good that you've been referred to a gastroenterologist, but I think your surgeon needs to work closely with that doctor. I had a bad esophageal dilation with dysmotility early this year that was diagnosed by my gastro doc, but he didn't know what to do about it until he talked with my surgeon and they agreed that taking all the saline out of my band was the best course of action.
