EverythingToGain 11 Posted November 10, 2012 I don't remember what the doctor said about hearthburn in the first month, but every monthly checkup I have, he asks if I'm having heartburn. He says it's a sign the band is too tight and could be causing other problems. If I were you I would call your doctor's office and just ask them about it. megamomnj 334 Posted November 10, 2012 I just had my surgery on November 6th and one of the prescriptions my doctor gave me was liquid Zantac. Maybe call your doctor and ask for a prescription? My doctor explained that this doesn't necessarily mean I will have heartburn but he gives it to his patients right after surgery just to be safe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
