I have a male friend who's over 400 lbs and he wasn't forced to buy another seat, so I'm not sure. 1 bamagirl2012 reacted to this

Just think a Barbie doll is 12 inches long, so no one would be able to fit in a seat. Don't get an exit seat... Those seats are so hard, uncomfortable and i always freeze. the night before, i don't sleep that way I can on the plane. If your tummy feels tight, ask the attendant for hot tea. I fly every week, this is what helps me. You will be fine. 1 scotland206 reacted to this

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted November 26, 2012 http://www.seatguru.com/ This site lists the seat sizes for pretty much all airlines. They do range from 17"-19" for economy. The airline I'm flying is 18"
bigenuff 302 Posted November 26, 2012 At 310 lbs. I was able to fit in the seat.( barely ) the arm rests bring u in from the side so ur weight is pushed forward. It's uncomfortable cuz the arm rest can dig into ur hip. I was flying every week all of 2011 at 310-315 lbs. I was asked only once to buy an extra seat( I refused) .you can ask to move or switch after everyone is seated or pray no one is in the seat next to you so you can keep the arm rest up which allows ur butt to spread a bit....good luck

Just to be more comfortable. 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted November 26, 2012 My husband says i will br fine but I know when i sit my rear is bigger than 18 inches. When do they make u buy another seat? It depends on the airline. I fly several times a year for work and numerous times for pleasure. When I was 377 lbs fat I only was told I would need to buy another seat one time. That was on a Southwest flight. I had flown from home to San Diego with no issues. But on the return flight they told me I had to buy a 2nd seat. It was the most humiliating experience. I countered them by showing them my frequest flyer # and saying in so many words....I wasnt too fat to get to San Diego... why am I too fat to get home. They actually didnt end up charging me but did issue a 2nd ticket for me for free which reserved the seat next to me. That was in August 2010. That was almost the last shove I needed to get banded.
