Hi everyone!

I'm now 23 days post op, feeling really good about it all.

I've lost a total of 14 kilos since the 2 weeks before my operation and just wanted to share that I spent a good hour in my closet today trying on old clothes, or clothes which used to be tight on me, and now they all fit really well and I'm excited to plan outfits to wear out of the house :)

This is absolutely the best decision I've ever made and I'm not even a month into my journey!

Yay!

Yep it's so much fun! Can't wait til I'm even smaller, I've got some size 12 (australian) jeans which are my goal pants, once I fit into them I will be so happy!

Congrats! It's still very strange to me that my shirts that are size XL just hang off me. I never thought I would see a "L" again. It's a great feeling!

Aint it great??? Lost 30lbs so far. Went on vacation, several weeks ago, went into my closet, and had the family laughing so hard. I looked like BOZZO in the pants I tried on. Shorts at the beginning of the summer that I could not begin to close, I now can get my hand down the front.

Feel so good! Congrats all you bandits!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
