My son has been feeling bad all night and just threw up- I'm scared I will get sick- what do I do if I get the stomach flu and throw up? My dr had mentioned something about nausea medicine but never gave me any- do I call the office tomorrow do you think?

if you suspect that you are getting a cold/or flu and will be having coughing, nasil drip and nausea and vomitting go to your surgon and see about unfilling to prevent slippage. Slippage can really mess you up and requires surgery. So i'd eir on the side of caution, get a flu shot if you can and sanitize your house and try to keep the germs just to your kids, I know harder said then done. If your kid has the flu and you are the one taking care of them, keep your kid in "isolation" if you can. You can get face masks at the home depot store i think they call them dust masks but same thing basically. You can also get disposable gloves at Walmart or your local pharmacy. To take the gloves off pinch at the cuff and pull downwards and gather the glove into your other gloved hand. Then take your non gloved hand and with your index finger placed under the cuff slide the glove off the hand. You sould now have the gloves inside out and you can dispose of them apropriately. Get yourself a can of LYSOL spray and if your kid pukes after disposing of the vomit and rinsing out the bucket the kid puked in spray with lysol that should help to reduce the chances of you getting ill if you are a caretaker.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
