I have been tired a lot lately. All I want to do is sleep. Last time I had this problem I was put on a low dose thyroid med. I was 298 at the time. Now I am 257. Could it be I am getting too much thyroid med? I am on 75 mcg levothyroxine. Is there any other reason I could be so tired all the time. Its been little over a week of being tired.

I would run it past your doc. They may want to repeat your bloodwork to make sure that your thyroid isn't out of whack. I take 50 mcg of Levothyroxine and have my thyroid checked every 3-6 months to make sure it stays in line as I lose weight.

Dang! I am on 150 of Levo!!! You gals are lucky! But yes, check with your doc. I have my blood tested once a year and medication changes based on this...

I was sleeping most of the day so by time I thought of calling it was too late. I think they tested it before surgery (October 18) but could be wrong. I figured it must be a thyroid problem. Can't figure out why else I would be tired all the time.

Could you be sleeping too much? Also, are you exercising? Maybe your quality of sleep isn't great so your body is constantly craving sleep/rest. I notice when I'm really stressed I'm extremely exhausted, but if I practically force myself to get up and move around, I can break the pattern. If I slept well the night before and feel sleepy when I get home from work, I will go for a walk. The fresh air wakes me up enough to make it til bedtime.

Check with your doctor, I had had a couple of meds that I have had to back down on due to weight loss.

I have always woke up middle of the night though. Usually cops in my neighborhood late at night, neighbor and his gf fighting, dogs barking.... Im used to the "ghetto sounds" at night. I have no energy at all where before surgery I did. I did call my doctor's office now that I am awake and thinking of it. The person I spoke with said she will see about getting me a blood test. According to her everything was fine last time. She said I might need more Iron since that was never tested.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
