tinakmorales 0 Posted April 4, 2006 I've never done anything like this so I hope I'm doing it right! Hello to all from a Ft. Lauderdale lap band-er! I'm one week in and so far so good!

lookingup 0 Posted April 6, 2006 I am also one week into my recovery--what kinds of issues are you having? I feel pretty good, I've been back at work for four days, but I'm mostly really really really hungry all the time on this liquid diet.< /p>
deevah1 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I am not so much hungry as just can't seem to find anything that is satisfying. Anyone have any suggestions about the liquid/soft foods stages
dak 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I'm a week behind you and will go to work on Monday for the first time. I'm also missing food, but having to go really slow especially with cold items. I've taken a few swallows that were too big or too close together and Lord Have Mercy! I am learning to really respect this band! Good luck to all us "newbies". Carol Conley 0 Posted April 9, 2006 She told me if I am feeling hungry to add Protein Powder to something like 2oz. of SF Jello or to what every drink I'm "sipping". If I start thinking about food or see a stupid pizza commercial I will put a scoop full of Protein powder in SF pudding, jello, etc.(I use Optisource-I get it www.walgreens., not at the stores). Then I take about 20-30 minutes to eat it, (who knew you could actually take that long to eat what used to take me 2 bites!) So far I haven't really felt hungry using this technigue that the dietician suggested. I am 12 days post-op. Good Luck!
dak 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I really appreciate the egg drop Soup recipe. I was so tired this morning that I thought I would faint from hunger/tiredness at 6 days post op. I made some of the Soup and slowly ate about 1/2 cup and it made a world of difference. I am having a hard time drinking anything especially the Ensure, Water, and juices. I can usually sip broth and coffee with Ensure added to warm it up. The soup was a real help to me. I don't know if my stomach is swollen around the band or what, but I'm having a really hard time getting anything down. The soup went down really great! And it tasted great too!! Anyone else having similar problems? Any other suggestions?
Elisabethsew 50 Posted April 9, 2006 I am 10 days post-op and noticed a big difference about 2 days ago. As the swelling and soreness subside, food goes down much easier. I am counting the days (4 more) until I can advance off the full fluids to the soft diet. Hang in there, you'll feel better in a few days.
dak 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Thanks Elisabethsew, it really helps to hear that!
