Driver's Licence Pics- Before And After

Recommended Posts

Well, for the last couple months I'd been having serious problems convincing people my driver's license was really mine. I looked absolutely nothing like the picture on it anymore. I have to fly in a couple weeks so I thought I'd better get a new one before then for fear security wouldn't let me pass because my ID didn't even look like me.

So.. here is my old and new driver's license pics.

On left taken November 2011. On the right October 2012.

Almost 160 pounds lost

What an excellent validation of your progress!

I had to renew my driver's license the month prior to my surgery, as my birth date was only 6 days after my surgery. I haven't had any difficulty convincing anyone it's still me, but look forward to getting a new licence and picture next year when we move.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks all...it really is a great feeling.

Though one funny moment: I was picking up a prescription a couple weeks ago that was a controlled substance. I had to provide my ID to get it. The woman kept looking at my (old) license then me, and I finally said "I swear that's really me, I just changed a lot". She finally goes "I hope you lost all that weight on purpose, not because you're sick with cancer or something". ROFL!!!

You look amazing Mis! What a difference!

I had to renew my license this year so that pic is more like me... But I forgot about my passport and last week in the Caribbean I was stopped leaving the country.... The Jamaican immigration didn't think it was me. They hauled me off to a special room and after an hour I finally convinced them It was really me... Luckily I had my fairly new drivers license to back it up but My husband spent an hour worried to death....since he had to wait outside.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
