JGTex 0 Posted November 4, 2012 I was banded a week ago and since that day, I've woken up at 4 a.m. every single day and haven't been able to go back to sleep. Anyone else having changes in their normal sleep patterns?? Thanks, Zzzzzzzzzz
JFu 1 Posted November 4, 2012 Oh yeah! I was banded on 09/14/12 and I didn't sleep a full night until about 6 weeks in. I think this is mostly because I am normally a stomach sleeper and it was uncomfortable to do so. Also, you're probably eating much less calories and its hard to sleep when your body is hungry. Not to worry, it will pass and you'll be sleeping like a baby in no time! Good luck! JFu
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted November 4, 2012 Yes sleeping was miserable for me also in the beginning, but once you lose all the weight your body will crave it.
Iruthie20 24 Posted November 4, 2012 I'm six days post off. I wake up early...and get up about 5x a night....its terrible. I wake up with back aches because of the position I have to sleep in. I wake up and get ice packs for my back which helps to put me back to sleep. I'm a stomache sleeper. Anybody know howl long it takes to start sleeping on my back again ? I had exactly the same problem and it was miserable. After about 3 weeks I could sleep a few hours on my stomach and every night a little more. At about 4-5 weeks post op I was able to sleep for a full 8 hours and felt so much better. You're going to be OK! Good luck! JFu
a1990 55 Posted November 4, 2012 I was the same way I'm month out now and it seems like I need more sleep maybe because of the sleep I lost I would sleep. Few hours in bed wake up for a little bit then go to the couch or the recliner and be awake for a little bit

lauradevans 52 Posted November 4, 2012 I'm 10 days Post Op and now can get comfortable with a pillow under my port and find myself on my stomach at night... I'm not there long I suppose since it wakes me up! I was in recliner for the 1st 6 days or so but once I got back to my bed... it felt good and I could sleep. I do wake up more now with heartburn... and I take Zantac and Reglan everyday!
