psychnurse79 2 Posted November 3, 2012 I had surgery on a Monday and went back to work on Wednesday. I'm a nurse and I work outside so it was rough at first because it was August. I say only you know your body! 1 suzannetx reacted to this
mkb805 23 Posted November 3, 2012 My doctor wants me off for a month since at work I am constantly lifting heavy items. Im going insane being out of work! It was nice for a week but now the time drags on and I feel fine to go back. Plus I got denied state disability so income would be great.

Toddy 758 Posted November 3, 2012 I had surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work the following Tuesday. I didn't have any pain, but I was so weak and light-headed I literally thought I was going to pass out. What made it worse is no one knew I'd had surgery and I sure didn't want to have to explain it after the fact!! I managed to make it through the day and felt better the next day. My band has slipped and I have to have surgery again. This time I'm going to take off a week and a half at the very least.
Mayra130 2 Posted November 3, 2012 How do you know when your band slips? Or did you have a check up at the docs office? 1 suzannetx reacted to this
Toddy 758 Posted November 3, 2012 How do you know when your band slips? Or did you have a check up at the docs office? I didn't have the typical symptoms of a slip. I had a couple of incidents of vomiting (not to be confused with regurgitation) followed by very severe and intense pain that required a partial unfill the first time and a complete unfill the second time. Before we started refilling this last time, I had a berium swallow test that revealed a pretty significant slip. It is not interfering with my ability to eat or drink so surgery is not emergent, but basically it's like having a band that is doing absolutely nothing for me. Also, it could possibly start causing problems which would make surgery emergent, so I've decided to go on and have surgery and this time have plication with it to hopefully prevent or greatly reduce the possibility of future slips. MumtoJackson 5 Posted November 3, 2012 I had my surgery on a Thursday and was back on Tuesday. Probably should have waited a full week but I managed - just a desk job.
