Well thanks again everyone...I survived although they did wake me up sometime in the middle of the night to bring me a CPAP machine which made me start crying but I put on my big girl panties and did it. I will start a home machine in about two weeks and then it's on to a healthier place!!

I had to do one a few years ago and I failed because I only slept for 20 minuts in the 6 hours I was there. My surgeon wants me to get another one done. I hope my insurance will pay for the home study because I can't sleep in strange places :(

Thanks for everyone's support. My sleep study did indeed suck and it turns out I have SEVERE sleep apnea. You can read all about it if you choose on my blog.

Going one step at a time...

I'm happy i didn't have sleep apnea, but the tech said it was very entertaining watching me sleep o_O well, turns out I'm a kicker, lol. He said i look like i was doing aerobics, i should weigh 10lbs at the rate i was going! I did the home one & it makes sense why it was all jacked up, lol....

I just went for a sleep test last night and failed miserably. I'm a stomach sleeper, so sleeping in a strange bed hooked up to tons of wires and being told to sleep on my back did not work well for me. I didn't spend enough time sleeping on my back for them to get sufficient results. Waiting to talk to my doctor this morning to find out what to do next :(

I have a sleep study scheduled for next Tuesday, after doing a nocturnal pulse ox last week that showed I have some degree of sleep apnea. I have so much trouble sleeping in the first place! Will have to see if I can take a sleeping pill.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
