If I could lose weight eating 1900 calories I would be very happy... but my number is 1000.

You may be hiting your first plateau... just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will move. Maybe increase your Water intake for a day or two. It might get things moving again.

It is normal to occasionally encounter weight loss plateaus, and despite doing everything the right way with diet compliance and exercise the scale stalls. Very frustrating to say the least.

What I have learned is not to become concerned about the scale stalling as long as I can honestly say to myself that I have been diet compliant and continue to exercise. It's not a good idea to become overly obsessed with your scale and weigh yourself too often.

Weight loss stalls have been discussed extensively on the forum, and some have discovered that changing up the type and speed of your exercise along with consuming more calories for a day (I know this part is counter-intuitive) seems to help.

I have observed that there are 3 situations which will cause my weight loss to stall: not enough Protein, not enough calories, and not enough exercise.

I've had challenges with exercise for medical and physical reasons, and I realize that my goal weight will take longer to reach than I would have liked...but I know that as long as I continue to loose and not gain, I will get there.

My weight loss journey has taught me a life skill which eluded me for many years: patience. I still take a day at a time and focus on my long term goals.

Best wishes for your success...you are off to a good start!

Do you think I could hit a plateau this early and with not losing a lot at weight ?

just because the scale is not registering a loss, does not mean you are not losing. (unless you and domino's are hooking up--please smile as i joking).

are you losing inches via your clothes being smaller or looser? if that is a yes, than you are losing. you are still pretty fresh out of surgery but sojo gave some excellent examples to ponder.

i am sure you are doing just fine.

best of luck to you. just keep on keeping on,

]

Plateaus have no rhyme or reason in my experience. I have continued to the exact same things day and and day out for 23 months... some months I would lose 6 lbs and others 15.... I wish I could explain it. If you are only eating 900 calories a day you will lose weight.

As for your calorie counter ap.... I manually changed mine from the 1800 they recommended to 1000 to be my benchmark

I didn't hit my groove losing weight til probably 2 months after surgery. A lot of people don't lose until they have 5,6,7,8cc in their band. Give it time, I'm sure you will be losing weight very soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
