R u getting enough Protein? ? There isn't much for protein in Soups or oatmeal!! I would try to get a few more calories in a really try to up ur protein that's very important. I did have the same problem at the 2-3 week point but I started losing again around week 4 I found that increasing my calories helped.

Many bandsters don't lose weight the first month or three. Two weeks of not losing weight isn't really considered a plateau. Maybe 6 weeks or more would qualify but two weeks is nothing. If you're only eating 600 calories a day your body is most likely in a starvation mode and will hold onto weight till you ramp up your intake. We all have to find our green zone of calories in and calories burned.

Some people lose more if they eat 1200 calories and there are others who lose on 800-1000. 600/day can make your body's metabolism slow down to nada. But, again, two weeks means nothing in the grand scheme.

And, you really shouldn't be worrying about losing weight just yet? Once you start getting fills and find some restriction you can work on the fat loss. But right now is a time to heal. Don't worry about it. I didn't start losing weight till my 3rd fill and that was 3.5 months out from surgery.

For sure too low of an intake. I easily get 60 grams of Protein a day. The best shake I've found is lean shake 25. It's has 25 grams of Protein, you can mix with low calorie juice or milk. Best price I've found is SAMs Club. This is a GNC product.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
