My office is having a pot luck today starting right now. A few people keep inviting me in. One said just come in and have a look at the food.

Would you say to a drug addict "come in the crack house just to have a look"?

I am still on liquids even though my dr said I can start eating soft food. My tummy is still a little sore and I don't want to hurt myself.

So I am just staying away from the food.

Congrats on your will power!!!!

Did they know you've had the surgery and still asked you to come "look" at the food? If so, that's really inconsiderate! I hope that's not the case!

Keep it up!!!

I'm getting banded a week from today... are you still not hungry? when was your surgery?

No my co workers did not know I had surgery. I wanted to keep it on the DL.

@CarrieCarrie, I had my surgery a week ago yesterday. I am still do not get hungry and most of the time I don't feel like eating. I look at my watch and think it's time to eat. My tummy growls but I can not tell if I am hungry or healing.

Now my co workers are telling me about the hot chillie that I missed out on. Well good, I can't stand spicy food. So I really did not miss out on anything. NO BIGGY...

All I'm thinking about is healing.

You know what's bad, is when my kids try to feed me. Last night they were having fried chicken, mac and cheese and deep fried potato. My little girl says she wants to have dinner as a family but I can not sit at the table when they eat that kind of stuff. I just can't. So I sit in front of the tv while my family is eating at the table.

I keep thinking "I'm healing, this will pass, remember what you are doing this for".

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
