Yes, it does, and wait until you don't have that extra layer of you. I was cold a lot and had to dress with more layers. But, it could be so much worse! We could have been the people that got hit by Hurricane Sandy. My heart goes out to all the people who were. KEEP WARM AND SAFE EVERYONE!! And you Rebirth, you look like you bundled well. Best wishes to you, too. Karen.

Turned the heat on this AM you folks up north may not know this but in south Fl. you don't have a furnace you just turn your air up it's an air handler . Feeling for all those states with out electricity and flooding,. We always think of Hurricanes down here not NY City.

When I get homesick for fall I go to Jacksonville..............

My second job I work in a bank so I don't have to bundle up. But from working in the cold for a few hours in stays in my bones. I stayed cold the whole day yesterday. My house stays warm its 73 degrees without heat. I usually use electric blanket when it drops down lower. It's just me so no need to warm up the whole house. Saves on the light bill.

I would freeze at 73 degrees. Mine is 75 degrees and I have a scarf around my neck. I, normally, keep my house at between 78 and 79 degrees in summer, so 75 is chilly for me. But, I did not turn on the heat. I am baby sitting my grand dog, and he is loving this weather. He refuses to come inside. During the summer, he does his business and asks to return inside to the cool. Yes, love saving on electricity this time of year! Karen

I'm from Jacksonville, Florida. Currently, I reside in the DC Metro area (Northern VA to be exact) since late 2009. Man, do I miss Jacksonville weather. We received the remnants of hurricane sandy yesterday and I soo wish I was in J'Ville today. Bundle up

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
