Sandy Benigar 2 Posted October 29, 2012 I will be 2 weeks post op tomorrow. Went to a wedding over the weekend and skipped ahead several steps on what I am supposed to be eating. I know I can't change what I ate, but what should I do now? I'm not even supposed to be out of the full liquid diet until Thursday. Also, (pretty sure I know the answer to this question), should I come completely clean with the doctor and dietician at my post op visit? Don't think I did any harm, other than ingest too many calories, but would appreciate your take on my situation.
line-dancer 810 Posted October 29, 2012 well, always be up front with them do neither of you have any surprises. odd that your band didn't stop u from eating most of us would have had some pain so you probably need a fill right a way. You need to work with this diet like any other the band helps a lot but it doesn't do it for u. track everything u eat and drink it helps you stay on point we all want this to be the last diet we have to be on we must pay attention this time. Good luck to you line dancer

Remember what you did to need WLS in the first place. over eating and high calorie junk foods. if you dont change what you eat now, even getting fills wont help you lose weight. you gotta help the band. sorry if i offend. and whats done is done that is correct but you deserve to treat yourself better. 5 ♕ajtexas♕, Maddysgram, Er8701 and 2 others reacted to this

If eating that food tore the stitches attaching your band then you might need additonal surgery to correct this. Doctors orders are there for a reason, please follow them. If you can't then discuss it with your doctor. The only one you are hurting is yourself. That may sound harsh but your body is trying to heal right now and you need to help it. Please pick up the phone and call your doctor. Take care. 3 Maddysgram, LouisianaLiLi and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 29, 2012 You have to realize the post op diet has nothing to do with calories whatsoever. It's designed to give your stomach time to heal. By jumping ahead you put yourself at very real risk for serious complications. Go back to whatever stage you're supposed to be on. If that's liquids then go back to liquids. And yes, it's essential that you do tell your doctor. 3 Maddysgram, ♕ajtexas♕ and LouisianaLiLi reacted to this
LouisianaLiLi 231 Posted October 29, 2012 I too, agree with what the other bandsters have said. I hope that you did not do any damage to your newly placed band. The stages are set for a reason...it's not to "torment" you. It's for you to heal. I know everyone seems to be a little rough with you, but you were rougher on yourself (endangering yourself) than these ladies have. Please come clean to your Doctor, and get yourself back on the wagon and go forward. 5 UntamedR, ♕ajtexas♕, Er8701 and 2 others reacted to this
